according to the host of the show:
"best guest ever"
tao lin 'the dude'
You were almost instantly parodied. That means they love you. Chris Evans (whoever that is) wants to take you out for drinks and he's going to read your books.
hysterical.
i liked listening to that.
'show stopper'
before i went on someone told me that it was a lively show and it would be good if i was lively
i think one or some of them were scared what was going to happen, i felt scared after they said that sort of
it sounded like at first you were trying to be a little lively, but then decided to just go ahead and be yourself.
that sounds funny to listen to
i just 'decked out' this post with 'foreign rights salability links'
is there a way I can listen to it later? or was it live and now gone forever
i'm not sure
if i find a link later on i will post it
That show seems to have a weekly "best bits" podcast. Maybe because Tao was the "best guest ever" he will be on the one available whenever it is available.

You've struck at economic values the way Burroughs and Ginsberg struck at moral values.
And now, like them, you'll be rewarded.
Congrats.
if you go down the page
on the right
there is an option to 'listen again'
it starts about an hour and a half into wednesday's programme.
very well done.
"he's a dude"
Is listening to Tao worth installing Real Player on your machine?
i used to pronounce your name as "tay-oh"
i still do sometimes in my head
it is funny
Writers and money are big news in the UK. Martin Amis made the front pages of regular newspapers with a big advance for The Information, with stories about how he had his teeth replaced with the money.
i just listened to it
there is a pause every time she asked something and before i said something
i think i was feeling a lot of pressure to not let there be any 'dead air'
i kind of wanted to just keep talking for a long time and interrupting people yet i felt the format of the show and 'tact' or something pressuring me to say little things or something and 'move on'
i really wanted to say at some point 'my target demographic is hipsters' and then talk for a long time about that
does someone know how to get an mp3 of just the part with me? if someone emails me that i'll email you a book
thank you for figuring that out taylor
eric, i wasn't sure if it was legal or not, i have just been thinking 'what difference does it make' whenever confronted with any questions like that
i read on your blog that your co workers say it isn't illegal at all, can you elaborate a little? (i read on some lawyer's website that it's illegal or something)
today i thought about going to jail because of this and i 'approved of that' in my head and thought things like 'i don't care' and 'that would be good'
that would be funny matthew, i would add that to my 'blurbs' somewhere
i am going to learn more about chris evans
'wow, chris evans is really famous'
Very nice. I would like to be interviewed there as well. I could talk about all sorts of things!
i should've said 'fuck america' at one point also, maybe when asked about why i was doing this, i should've said 'i hate america so much' or something
I'm afraid I would panic during an interview this big and say something like, "fuck me."
'teresa' sent me an mp3, thank you 'teresa'
it is here now: dinner.muxtape.com
there are songs there also, i will do something to change that later maybe
Chris Evans is a very famous person in the UK. He's a media mogul who sold his media company a few years ago for seven million pounds. He also married and divorced Billie Piper when she was about 16. He is a prick.
Chris Evans is a bit of a prick, but his old show TFI Friday was very good. He is very famous. It makes me laugh if I picture him in bed reading a Tao Lin book.
http://fuckmonkey.tumblr.com Sorry.
that was funny
good job, tao. this way you will be more famous when you come to speak at my school. the more famous you are, the more impressed my students will be, and then maybe they will give you five dollar bills.
You totally got compared to Charles Bukowski.
Yeah, Chris Evans is pretty famous over here. He used to present a lot of high ratings type TV shows, before he started his radio show. It seemed almost incongruous when I read on your blog that you'd been on his show, like two worlds meeting that I never thought would. Very cool though. I enjoyed it, as I also enjoy your books. Anyways, all the best Tao.
i liked how at the beginning you sounded aggressive and chipper and then you kind of just turned back into tao
it was like they put you in a cage and poker you with energy sticks and then you calmed down once they couldnt control you on the air
:fuck america:
you were great. they loved you.
awesome awesome awesome
that was really good. yeah, chris evans is 'famous' here, still, i think.
i wish i had just accidentally heard that on the radio.
good work.
UK interest.
ossian,
he sounds famous and good, i think the more famous i become the less depressed i will feel
roo,
does he do what he says, he said he would buy my book the next day, based on watching him on tv is he the kind of person who would say that and not mean it, i don't know, does anyone know?
kelly,
yes, i felt proud today of my mom for raising me to be able to become famous, i feel like she wrote my books pretty much and did everything
i was thinking about this at work while staring at a man eating 'walnut lentil pate' alone at a table
i don't know what to think about 'walnut lentil pate,' i wish it was in a movie and someone said 'let me show you something,' and then they showed someone 'walnut lentil pate'

I think Evans was almost certainly kidding around, if not mocking you, but congratulations anyway, I guess.
haha that is weird. I think Chris Evans will buy your book. He may be on your blog right now. He wouldnt leave a comment if he was though as he is too famous and has been in the tabloids. If Chris Evans obsessively commented on your blog awareness of you in Britain would rise by a statistically significant amount i think.
dave, hm, really
are you sure people that famous can be that sarcastic or something?
Olivia dosen't like when she can't hear a poet speak over the laughs of his crowd on youtube. She becomes angry because she thinks poetry is all about words and sounds and these people are adding extra words and sounds that don't belong. She will probably just end up getting an audiobook on Itunes.
She gets annoyed when all the fiction audiobooks on Itunes are movies. She can't find an audiobook read by Tao Lin. He is too quiet and hard to find.

hi olivia
happyi, 'i'm probably not going to jail'
haha i love this interview.
I don't think that guy will really buy your book, but that's okay because other people who were listening to the interview might look you up and then buy it. and also now that you have an mp3 millions of bloggers will post this on their blogs as a funny tao lin interview. insta-fame.

A great interview. They seemed confused at first, the interviewer uncomfortable. She seemed to warm to you. Evens was oozing.
